Never lie

I took out some time today to write a blog on Baba and his advice on our conduct in day to day life.

Baba says, "people tell lies and degrade themselves, a liar is worst amongst the sinners". If you tell a lie it will affect you in some form or the other and its effect is immediate. You can experiment it with yourself. Tell a lie and you will get its reward at the earliest.

I will tell a story of my friend who is a chronic liar. By the way he is a Sai devotee. He tells me often that he lies effortlessly. It is his part of nature. Once he was on his way to a distant land. Before departing he chatted with us and as usual lied to one of my friend regarding his girlfriend. I could catch him but didn't say anything in public. Later in private, I told him that he will face the consequence of this lie in very near future. He pooh poohed my warning.

We went home bidding him good bye. A couple of days after, he called me and narrated what had happened in the plane during the journey. He told me that, he was very happy boarding the plane, enjoying the movies and air hostess when suddenly he felt uneasy and started to vomit. Within a short interval of one hour he vomited 15 times. It was a terrible experience for him. He could not endure any more and he was forced to think about the cause behind this calamity. He thought, it was not food, nor drinks then what could be the reason. It is to be mentioned that this thought process took place in the course of his vomiting.

Suddenly a calm voice responded from inside reminding him of his lie to the friend and also my words about its consequences. As soon as he identified the cause, he immediately asked Baba for forgiveness. And in no time after this realization and internal confession his vomiting stopped and he felt relieved. He also could take food and drink normally. He was alright and there was no further trouble in the rest of his journey.

After this incident he began to improve (in terms of lying) dramatically. Now he seldom tell lies. Even if he tell lies, confesses immediately and ask for forgiveness from the person.

This law of effect on lies is universal. If we think deeply, everybody has experienced its bitter consequences. There is no limitations to the effects of lying. It can be of any form. For example, if you lie, there can be minor mishap, abuse from relatives, friends or strangers, sickness or bodily injury, loss of money, unnecessary delays and so on.

There is another form of lie called half truth or manipulation of the truth. It is worst than lying. I will try to cover it in my next blog. I have to leave now it's time for dinner. cya!
